Okay, but ... have y'all never met a high school boy?? They do feel like these things are huge stakes, even if with a few years, they'll (hopefully) realize how minor it really was.

I couldn't agree less with the people here dissing sports animes; they're some of my favorites, even though I don't play or watch any real-life sports. I find them wildly entertaining if there's anything genuine or original about them. The only thing I don't like is how willing they are to destroy their bodies for their precious high-school team. I don't find it unrealistic ... but I'm sure their older selves will seriously regret pushing themselves past the point where they can make a full recovery just to heroically sacrifice themselves for their team to ~maybe~ get the win.
