Same. Some people, I just want to see the streamlined, edited videos or pictures or what have you and not listen to them ramble on for an hour.

it's probably less discarded ideas and more avoiding brand confusion and/or being able to put out monetizable content with less effort. if you're a youtube channel that wants sponsors, you need a quantifiable audience, and having a quantifiable audience requires a certain standardization of content. also podcasting is simply less time-consuming, and if you don't want to do a lot of editing and set up you don't have to (you should though lmao).

IDK I think you might be missing out on some fun stuff.

For example, I listen Song vs Song and Todd in the Shadows gets more into certain bands/artists/genres that compliment his YouTube videos.

Some may consider it dumpster info but I enjoy hearing about more stuff he didn't share on his YouTube videos.

To each their own.

I think that's the point though? To here the extended thoughts/ideas of a creator you like, because not everything is worth making a video for or can be packed into a single video.

I feel like this secret hits differently this week considering Tom Scott is taking a video sabbatical but is still running his podcast.
