I've done this. Way back in the day I'd publish fic and get irrationally upset or anxious about it. Now I just took the pressure off and write for just me. It's a lot more fun. Plus I don't have to polish it up - I often end up writing just random scenes that pop in my head and never go back to connect or finish it into a coherent story.
