FWIW, I tend to think of those kinds of repeated requests less as "I didn't like the one I got" and more "this is my favourite trope/theme/idea and I want to read it a thousand different times in a thousand different ways, I just love it that much".

If it is something I'd really like then I'd ask for it a thousand times, even the same way, with only ever minor changes. It means you've completed and successfully zeroed in to exactly what the requestee really wants. It is a huge success, and a vote of endorsement.

Well, I don't think so. Brains are tricky things and I can absolutely understand having this reaction even if a more rational part of you can acknowledge it's really not about the quality of your fic at all... the recipient probably just wants even more of that thing.

Same. I mean, maybe not between just me and google docs, but maybe between me and a few good friends. I started getting in my own head about numbers of kudos and comments, about how people are going to perceive me, shit like that. It really took the fun out of it all.

I'm trying hard to get back into fandom being a place where I do shit I enjoy, rather than treating it like a popularity contest. I think I'm gonna sign up for 100ships and just create stuff for me and my friends.

As someone who has requested the same premise twice in fandom events: this. It's my favourite trope! I want to see it in as many variations as possible.
