This. They waffled a lot between making her the antagonist and a possible love interest and a scientist of some sort even though she was supposed to be a diplomat who then never actually did any diplomacy. The writing on this show was a mess and it was the most obvious with Weir. Her character was wasted and I much preferred Woolsey or Sam, who were much more defined in the leadership role.

(And honestly, they had Weir break up with her boyfriend by video message; that just made her seem like a flighty asshole right off the bat.)
