I hear you, OP. This show's return was one of the things (along with X-Files) that taught me you can't go home again and sometimes it's better not to bring stuff back. I've tried to forget that last season because while I wasn't NOT a Logan/Veronica shipper, I wasn't that invested in it. But if they were going to go in that direction, oof, that was bad. I didn't like that Veronica was so into violent bad boy Logan because it felt kind of toxic and like she hadn't really grown up at all. Regressed is more like it. It's not like I wanted Logan to turn into Mr. Rogers, but surely there was a better balance that THAT? And honestly, the ending felt like a big fuck you to the fans.

Ao3 is a godsend for me. I couldn't care less about 'fandom', only fic.

I don't want to have to scour Tumblr or whatever social media site is the 'in thing' to find fic to read.

I’m eternally grateful to everyone who archived their fic on AO3. There are easily a few hundred fics I love that were written between 96 and 09 that would have disappeared forever if not for AO3.
The stuff you’re talking about can happen in any fandom spaces. I do think it’s strange it’s happening on AO3, but that’s probably because I don’t use the platform as social media like some fans do.
