Yes. I have many phobias because of H MD.

At least you know it's not lupus

(Anonymous) 2024-02-17 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Interestingly enough, lupus is extremely common. It’s been like ten years but iirc lupus is more common than any of the diagnoses on House.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-17 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Kind of the point tho, isn't it? If it was Lupus it would never get to House, any doc could diagnose it. He deals specifically in zebras.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-17 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
That would be logical but that wasn’t the reasoning given in the show. It wasn’t just that he thought his patients couldn’t have it, it was that anyone ever diagnosed was misdiagnosed. He even said as much and the backlash against the producers was enough that the next season he had a patient with Lupus.

I could never understand HOW. I mean, I have toenail clippers. They don't fit UP MY FUCKING NOSE. Just...wtf.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-17 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
You can get slanted toenail clippers that are suppose to make it easier to cut with. Either that's what he used or he uses the really tiny ones for his toes.

The slanted ones (help to keep away ingrown toenails, too) are the same size as the other ones. And the teeny ones wouldn't cut my big toenail, or probably most people's, as they tend to be thicker and harder.

It just always struck me as super-weird and just...WHY, when you could get a damn nose-hair clipper that goes as far as you want it to.

I mean, yes, i *know* why - ha ha, this guy has athlete's nose, so funny, but it's just...stupid and bugs me. :D

I have clippers like these and they would fit up a nostril, not that I'd want to put them up there: https://www.amazon.com/FERYES-Ingrown-Toenail-Clippers-Straight/dp/B081VG1Q98

Those would, yeah. I guess I'm only thinking of the 'standard' flat ones; those pointy ones weird me out just a little. :D

(Anonymous) 2024-02-17 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
now this is the kind of secret I come here for!!! but also, who the hell does that?!

(Anonymous) 2024-02-17 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
It's just tinea, you can get that anywhere you have skin. It's more likely on a body part that gets sweaty and has little air exposure, but it's hardly exclusive to feet.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-17 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
Auggggh! Now I have another thing to fear! Thanks, OP! >:(

(Anonymous) 2024-02-17 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
The only thing you have to is fear itself. And also that you might rub your fingers between your toes, shove them up your nose, and get an infection.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-24 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
LOL that was a hilarious scene. That guy was such a jerk, he deserved athlete's foot in his nose
