Interestingly enough, lupus is extremely common. It’s been like ten years but iirc lupus is more common than any of the diagnoses on House.

Kind of the point tho, isn't it? If it was Lupus it would never get to House, any doc could diagnose it. He deals specifically in zebras.

That would be logical but that wasn’t the reasoning given in the show. It wasn’t just that he thought his patients couldn’t have it, it was that anyone ever diagnosed was misdiagnosed. He even said as much and the backlash against the producers was enough that the next season he had a patient with Lupus.
