Inspired by #8 - fandoms you missed out on

Which fandom do you wish you could have been in during it's prime?

It’s not inactive by any means, but I wish I could’ve gotten into Jujutsu Kaisen a little earlier or at least back when it still had humor between the dark moments. Everyone in the fandom seems split between either hating the direction it’s going in and bashing people who still like it or praising Gege’s genius and blocking out all reasonable criticism.

Trek fandom pre-internet sounds like a fun time.

Lord of the Rings. And I know there is probably so much Faramir fic I'll never see. :(

Babylon 5 would have been fun when it was currently airing. Doctor Who in the classic era. Star wars when the OT came out. Lord of the Rings fandom before the movies.

My memories of OT Star Wars fandom when the movies came out involve slash being officially forbidden to the point where it was very underground and very few zines even existed for it in SW fandom. There were lots of arguments about whether Luke or Han deserved to get the girl, and obnoxious Luke vs. Han character-stanning wars. Lando was also bashed a lot for capitulation to Darth Vader in TESB. So, it was pretty much fandom as usual.

Genesis

I still listen to Seconds Out and would seriously consider going back in time to attend the concerts where that album was recorded.

I have mixed feelings re: St. Elsewhere-- I would LOVE if I could have found more active fans, but like... if I had been around for it when it was airing, there would have been no internet, and certainly no shipping anything queer.

As it is, there are like... a couple people who have *been* active and written some fic, but there's not a *fandom*.
