How's your eyesight?

(Anonymous) 2024-02-23 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Went to the eye doctor today. My eyesight has gotten worse again (up to minus 10). Which wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't in my mid 30s. It should have stabilized by now. :(

Utter crap, I need glasses.

Idk what my glasses are but my contacts are -6.25

I wish i could afford the lasik surgery. I hate not being able to see.

Well, my eyesight has always been particularly bad. It gets worse every time I go. Both my parents' eyes were really bad as well, so it definitely runs in our family. My mom actually had her second cataract surgery today.

Edit: found my prescription. Right eye is -6.75 and left is -5.75. I also have astigmatism.

Somewhere between -7 and -8, with astigmatisms in both eyes.

But it's sucked since I was a small child and I'm used to it by now.

Pretty bad, I have astigmatism, farsightedness, and a lazy eye and wear thick glasses to see. I just had an eye exam last month and my glasses prescription wasn't much different, but the doctor said I have bubbles in my lenses which means cataracts in my future. I'm Olde (57).

Mine's decent but weird. I have a nearsighted eye (-1) and a farsighted eye (+1.25). Both get slightly more of each characteristic with each year, but the tweaks to my prescription have been pretty minimal.

(That said, the bigger issue is my optic nerves don't focus in sync, so Lasik won't do too much in my case.)

Re: How's your eyesight?

(Anonymous) 2024-02-23 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Pretty bad. I've needed glasses since the 2nd grade.

Re: How's your eyesight?

(Anonymous) 2024-02-23 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
pretty shit. I need my glasses to see long distance and I've worn glasses constantly since college back in 2002. computers and technology have made it worse since then.

Re: How's your eyesight?

(Anonymous) 2024-02-23 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Oh this sucks.

My is slightly bad. But it's a bit weird. I've started to have headaches, anxiety attacks on top of my usual base and slight nausea after looking at some night lights around -0,25. Right now my eyesight is around -1,5 (slight difference in eyes so I forget which is which). So it's not too bad, but combination with world's shittiest blood vessels means I can't function outside without glasses. Or = headaches, nausea etc. I can manage at summer but at winter just nope.

Crappy.
VERY bad astigmatism, -5, -6, cataracts *just* starting to form. I wear glasses to drive and shop and whatever, and 'readers' to read/type. I did bifocals a couple years ago, but they drove me out of my fucking mind.

I cannot wait to get the cataract removal when i finally hit medicare age, and they put that lens in the eye so you can suddenly see!

I'd get Lasik but i dunno if they'll do it with my crappy astigmatism, and I doubt I can afford it.

Right eye is -9.75 with astigmatism and left eye is -8. something maybe -8.5. I'm 45 and I had to start getting progressive lens in lieu of starting bifocals.

I maintain that my eyes are perfectly healthy! They are just very very nearsighted.

Pretty OK. I don't need glasses.

All my loved ones do, so I empathize.

How to be even

(Anonymous) 2024-02-23 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Like what IS even?

This is like pancakes, on the girdle of my brain. Slippin' and slidin' and slapjackin'. Bubblin' and brownin', becoming tasty maybe, but what if I overdid it with the mix? Fry up that bacon, Sam! It's gonna salvage this meal. Straight out the back country farm, cured in the old way, shipped to the butcher and then to here, to this place, this yard, this kitchen. Grease in the air! Slowly crawling over to the cakes, seeping into them, making them into something else.

I feel it in the creases, and I don't think it's going to go very well.

Depression

(Anonymous) 2024-02-23 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
I can't even with this year. I think we're all pretty much resigned to courts finishing stripping us of all rights in favor of billionaires, and Trump getting his second term. I don't see how we can carry on like this. It is just so depressing.

There was just one good decision from the SC. Or at least, one good decline to take a decision.

Wisconsin's Congressional maps have been approved, and the districts are now more competitive/less gerrymandered.

Depressing that Trump 24 is pretty much a sure thing at this point.

Greece vacay

(Anonymous) 2024-02-23 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Has anyone been to the Greek Islands on vacation? What is the best one for families? I don't want to end up somewhere that is the party place for college kids.
