I only saw a bunch of discourse about how either Barbie was robbed or Barbie wasn't robbed because it didn't deserve any nominations in the first place.

I do however suspect that part of Oppenheimer's success was thanks to Barbie (or rather the Barbieheimer trend), so the majority of the awards won for Oppenheimer were probably undeserved.

nah, critical success like awards shows rarely like to reward financially successful movies unless they have artistic credit as well anymore, and you could see the "his year" narrative for nolan for at least two years before the movie came out. it probably would have gotten the same awards. but i agree it wouldn't have made as much money.
