I don't feel the least bit sorry for them, and frankly, I think he's humouring them more than he should by answering at all.

Fandom's parasocial "validate me senpai" BS is beyond out of control at this point, and I wish more creators would adopt the old-school practise of politely pretending those rabid elements don't exist, rather than encouraging them by replying to their obnoxious asks, passive-aggressively or otherwise.

I find the silence on the matter telling, lol. I hadn't watched it since 2010 but I stayed up 36 hrs to watch it this year. I miss the montages they used to make back in Billy Crystal's day.

There was one recently that sent me over the edge. Someone asked (paraphrase) “have you ever considered using non-binary characters in your works?”

I can’t tell if they were trolling, exceptionally dense, or had maybe seen only one thing he’s done and thought they were being oh so profound by quizzing him about doing more inclusion.

I only saw a bunch of discourse about how either Barbie was robbed or Barbie wasn't robbed because it didn't deserve any nominations in the first place.

I haven’t watched since about 2000 or so. I did hear something about them having their best ratings in years but that it was still a pretty low number and most viewers just watch the red carpet stuff. It’s been at least 10 years since I’ve heard any talk around the office about the Oscars with the exception of the Will Smith slap (that was the Oscars, wasn’t it?). And everyone just watched the clips and read news about it, it’s not like anyone saw it as it happened.

tl;dr it would be surprising to find anyone that watched because even in fandom and media-centric circles they just aren’t worth the time.

Not a show, but that's Phoenix Wright.

(And the fact that I don't watch courtroom dramas and Phoenix Wright is my main experience with courtroom media made me realize how my perception of the justice system in media is so different from how it actually is; between that and To Kill a Mockingbird I thought "heroic defense attorneys proving wrongly-accused innocent" was the standard formula.)

You need to learn to say No and set some damn boundaries.

But I also understand. When I get into bed it signals to the house that my day is Done and not even the pets bother me. It is also my favorite part of the day, though I don't read much fic these days I just really like cuddling in my blankets and not doing anything.
