Galavant. How I Met Your Mother. The Simpsons in the early years. Futurama, also early years. Night Court. Police Squad! (amazing and should have run longer).

Does The Good Place count? Does Monk count? Both are mixed genres but with a lot of comedy elements.

I used to love Night Court. I had a big crush on John Larroquette like I do on Hugh Laurie now, I must be hardwired to like tall snarky guys.

Police Squad! was terrific but by all reports it was already running out of gags. That level of writing is really hard to sustain!

Interesting. What I heard was that the network decided that audiences wouldn't get that type of comedy and so pulled the plug on it.

That's what I heard as well. I think it was Leslie Nielson who mentioned it in an interview.

If it's true it was a shame. Police Squad is genuinely one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.
