Piercings

Do you have any piercings? If so, how old did you get them and do you have any particular favorite jewellery you wear with it?
If you don't have your ears pierced - would you ever want to? Do you wear clip-ons or just don't bother with them?

Just ears. At one point I did have two ear piercings in each ear, but those ended up growing back. Just trying for one hole each this time.

I have tried clip-ons in the past when I didn't have piercings, and i found them painful.

We had to wait until we were 10 do get our ears pierced, band I was beyond excited on my 10th birthday to get it done. I just have the one hole in each ear.

I tried to get my tongue pierced for my 21st birthday but I have weird veins in my tongue so it couldn't be done. Still sad about that. Instead I got my lip pierced (bottom right side). I've since had to take it out for Life Reasons and its closed up. I miss it sometimes but have never really fully had the urge to go and get it re-pierced. Yet.

I have three piercings in each lobe, I did have two helix in each ear as well but they never healed right so I took them out and let them close because it was annoying in the end. If I want to make it look like I have them still I just wear some ear cuffs, same effect, no issues healing.

My mom sports three in each lobe. She tried for a top of the ear one, but it started to develop keloid scarring so that was the end of that.

My skin hates me but I love getting piercings so I always keep trying. LOL.
I have two ear piercings on each lobe that are now closed-- the first pair was done when I was 13 or so, the second pair was around 18, I think. I pierced my nipples twice at different times that are now closed, first time was 18, the second time I tried was 24-ish. I got my labret and industrial done in school that is now closed, that was around 16 or 17. And then got my nostril done that is now closed around 21 or 22-ish. Oh, the only piercing I have still standing is my septum, which I got done around 19.
Sadddddd that they're basically all gone, I know, but like I said, my skin sucks majorly.

I don't have any piercings. I don't wear earrings. A long time ago I used to wear clip ons but they either hurt or fall off.

I don't have mine done, mostly because I'm scared of needles :'D
I did ask if I could get them done when I was 8 years old, but mu Mom said no and never thought to bug her about it again.

I have clip-ons, but I don't usually keep them in very very long and some times I just forget about them.

My mom had my ears pierced when I was three or four. I still remember it, all these decades later, because I had no idea what was going on, then everything hurt and I was crying, and my mom said I could get any balloon I wanted. Tearfully I pointed at the unicorn balloon, the only one I wanted out of the offered selection. They were out.

I've since let my piercing heal. I can't be bothered with jewelry.

Oh, that's hard. They couldv'e let you have the balloon on show, instead of sending you away without one. :-[ Also, judging your mother for having holes bored in her tiny daughter just for show.

Yeah, it was the 80s, so it was the Done Thing. Luckily, the ideas "my mom was a great mom and did her best" AND "she did things that probably traumatized me" are things that can and do co-exist. I did get a balloon, just not the one I wanted and that was the worst of it; it felt unjust to not get the unicorn balloon. I probably wouldn't have remembered it at all if they had it. Strange the things that stick with you for years and years.

My colleagues were talking how they got their daughters ears pierced at around 1. Because "if they are older they (children) would make a fight". I am still enraged frankly. So much fucking gender shit. Also "she doesn't wear nice golden earrings, she likes flower design". YOUR DAUGHTER IS FOUR OF COURSE SHE LIKES FLOWERS AND NOT GOLDEN WITH DIAMOND FUCKING EARRINGS WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. *breaths out*

I was also born in 80s but haven't got my ears pierced till 10 or 11 years. Mostly because I really loved my grandmother's earrings :'D

The implications of how people view their children and the violation of consent that we all grow up with... man.

My ears were first pierced when I was 1. It was the early '70s, and Mom got tired of people saying "What a cute little boy!" because I was a bald baby who wasn't dressed in pink frilly everything all the time (Mom didn't much like pink, but apparently even a black velvet dress wasn't enough to cue some people in!). I added a third piercing (2nd hole in right earlobe) around... oh, 13 or 14.

Ironically, I am still misgendered sometimes. As cis women go, I'm just not very good at being femme, I guess.

I’ve had my ears and tongue but let my tongue close up about 20 years ago. I stopped wearing earrings a few years ago, too. My tongue piercing was my favorite tho, I always wore a door knocker and it was oddly soothing and comforting. But it was a huge no no at work so I had to keep it hidden and eventually just took the spacer out.

I have always really wanted my nipples pierced but have never been brave enough to get them done.

Just ears since I was seven. I used to want an eyebrow piercing but I look at photos of them now and am glad I didn't do that.

Just my ears. I got them pierced when I was twelve and let them grow over by accident. I didn't get them pierced again until I was nearly 30, but I'm glad I did.

I can't do clip-ons. For some reason they give me nasty headaches. No idea why pinching my earlobes would cause my whole head to hurt, but it does.

I like earrings that are slightly chunky, but sit close to the lobe, like a small chubby hoop, or a button style with the post on one side of the "button" so the majority of the earring's mass hangs below the lobe. I have a long-diamond face shape and I think adding mass and brightness to the slightly hollow area under my cheekbones is why these earrings styles look best on me.

I have a medusa piercing, an industrial in my left ear, and then the standard lobe earrings. I don't remember how old I was when I got the standard lobe ones, I think maybe around 11 or so? I got the industrial when I was 33 and the medusa when I was..36, I think.

My industrial is the plain starter bar, I haven't change it out. My medusa is a small diamond-shaped piece. My standard lobes are usually empty because all of my earrings are long and dangly so they can't just stay in my ears, but I'm often a lazy gremlin about getting ready so...I don't put any earrings on. XD;

I had my earlobes pierced in early teenagehood as some unofficial rite of passage, and decided last year to go on a piercing spree. I've added two more holes in my left lobe, one in my left helix, two in my right helix, one in my left eyebrow. And there's a few more planned for the months to come!
I don't have favourite jewellery, I'm not a jewellery person, I'm ok with simple rings for now, but I'm planning on coloured studs along my earlobes when I have a few more holes, and I was hoping for a Bajoran-like earpiece because reasons.

Two holes in each earlobe, two of those holes have been streach to 10mm and I really like wearing tunnels in those, my bellybutton, lip piercing on the bottom left side, and one nipple. It used to be both nipples, but one of them grew croocked and I took it out. I plan to get it redone. And I would also like to get more in my ear, like a conch or a rook.

I first had my ears pierced at 6, I think? Then again at 10, 16, and 22 - if I leave my earrings out for a week or so, they just start to close over. I really wanted multiple earrings piercings, but I'm not too keen on going through the pain of finding a reputable piercer then going through the post-piercing care again.

So...
Lobe piercings when I was a baby (it's a cultural thing). However I moved, so it was uneven. Years later at around 12? or something? I got my lobes repierced (but it's still uneven lol).

Then during the pandemic, I was about 28? 27? Got my helix pierced. Didn't heal right and I lost the piercing. Then last summer, got the opposite side double helix, and that's been healing nicely. I want more. lol. I was actually thinking of getting pierced again, but I'll save it for my next travel experience. Or maybe I shouldn't? So at least my piercer is still around? lol.

Anyway. Have been considering dermals, but probably not.
