I know what it means, you just don't want it to mean what it means. You are the one trying to control how others do fandom. That is gatekeeping. I'm sorry if you are upset at finding out you are gatekeeping, especially if you don't like to think of yourself as a gatekeeper, but that is what you are doing. Share your fandom, even on goodreads.

No. Do I have the power to stop people from posting their ill advised fic reviews on goodreads? No? Can I stop people who DO post their ill advised fic reviews on goodreads from being in fandom? No? Then I'm not gatekeeping. I'm saying they're doing fandom in an inherently destructive way, not that they're not allowed in fandom because of it. Gatekeeping is about limiting resources, power, or opportunities to people who agree with you. If you can't limit those things, then it's just sparkling criticism.

You don't know what gatekeeping is.
