You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.

Read From Here to Eternity: Traveling the World to Find the Good Death by Caitlin Doughty. Highly recommend if you are into Mary Roach's books.

Looking at all the books I read in 2023, my second half of the year sucked compared to the first half. :(

So, I've been reading Lady Justice: Women, the Law, and the Battle to Save America. Great book that I've found really inspiring. I'm almost finished with it.

Other than that, I honestly haven't had much time for reading. Looking forward to reading some on my upcoming trip, though. Planning on leaving the computer at home.

On Writing by Stephen King

It was a really interesting combo of memoir/writing tips. I don't do horror so I've never read King before and found myself really enjoying his style!

someone I follow on tumblr posted about The Captive Prince, and since I'd already read and enjoyed Fence I gave it a shot.

Devoured the series in less than a week and my brain is still going brrrrrrrrrrrrr

The new edition of JRR Tolkien's Letters. Nothing massively revealing in the new letters (they're easy to identify because they've got numbers and lower-case letters.) So I'm glad I got the librrary to buy it, instead of forking out the large sum of money for it myself - and someone else is waiting for it, so there is a demand for it.

The reason I like it is that it's very apparent that he loved his wife and his children SO MUCH.

Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky brothers is still vibrating around in my brain after a couple of days.

Anything that isn't set in our current/normal world would be great.

Savage Appetites: Four True Stories of Women, Crime and Obsession by Rachel Monroe was a good read. It's about this True Crime fan exploring the history of women getting involved with four criminal roles (detective, victim, defender, and killer). There's a bunch about the history of crime in the last 50 years. I enjoyed it.
