NYART, but literally no, and I will assume this isn't trolling for now

gatekeeping is when someone who seeks out fandom spaces is mocked/ostracized/excluded for failing to jump through the right hoops or have the right old school knowledge or just looking like the wrong kind of fan

wanting to keep your own fandom activities in fandom spaces, where only people who do seek them out will find them, but welcoming anyone who does that, is very much not gatekeeping

asking people in words to please not do a thing the community generally finds rude, is also not insisting they have old school knowledge, because it's telling any newcomers what's considerate and what's inconsiderate, not expecting them to already know/guess. wanting people to behave considerately once they've been told is also not gatekeeping.

TLDR: keeping fandom STUFF, IN fandom spaces is NOT gatekeeping. goodreads is not fandom space, do not put fandom stuff there. keeping PEOPLE OUT of fandom spaces IS gatekeeping. literally no one is objecting to someone who uses goodreads also using Ao3 and enjoying both things. just enjoy them in their own community spaces please.
