self inflicted death on self.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-25 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
But that isn't what it is? Unless you have a different interpretation....

(Anonymous) 2024-04-25 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It is. OP wants to die and go to another world. This's why China bans Isekai btw. So no one is tempted to discard their life believing in reincarnation.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-25 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Shouldn't they ban most religions then as they often have a rewarding afterlife like Heaven?

(Anonymous) 2024-04-25 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I think only Hinduism straight up says that you get a redo so you gotta live in your caste. The others just offer rewards.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-26 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
How is a paradise more/less bad than spawning in some other worlse?

(Anonymous) 2024-04-26 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
China does, in fact, ban most religions. And anyone who officially belongs to the Communist Party is not allowed to participate in religion.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-25 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm sure that why China banned it. Nothing to do with them being a totalitarian country that hates anything even vaguely subversive.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-25 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, at least USA brings peacefull weapons, pretty bombs and honorable soldiers to other countries, and kills dictators in other countries. Democracy, yay!

(Anonymous) 2024-04-26 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
No one even mentioned the US.

Fun fact, another country has banned isekai media. Russia. What a coincidence.

It is witchcraft all the way down!

(Anonymous) 2024-04-26 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Where in the US is Harry Potter banned by the government?

AYRT

(Anonymous) 2024-04-26 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
yeah but i'm saying it's the same (broken ass) LOGIC

Re: AYRT

(Anonymous) 2024-04-26 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
But it isn't. One became law, one didn't.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-26 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Has there ever been an actual case of someone killing themselves because they believed they'd be "isekied" somewhere? I googled and could not find any instances.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-26 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
there's not really any cases of a trans person going through HRT and transition just so they can touch people in bathrooms either. But that hasn't stopped legislators from pretending THATS a serious problem either.

In order to feel superior to China you have to have your country do some good. So US is relevant.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-25 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you mean suicide? I am so confused.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-25 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
yes. Truck-kun is a popular Isekai trope. In the first chapter a character is run over by a truck, die, and get Isekaed to another world.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-25 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought the isekai thing was magically transported, not die and go to heaven/world of your dreams transported.

I am apparently too old for fandom trends, these are just confusing.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-26 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
It can be either one. There are plenty of examples of both.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-26 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Well TiL. Thanks random secret OP and everyone in this thread!

(Anonymous) 2024-04-26 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Truck-kun is a meme at this point, because so many Isekai protaganists die getting hit by a truck (usually in one or two sentences/panels) before reincarnating into their new world.

(Anonymous) 2024-04-26 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Lol I wonder if that makes shows like Life on Mars count as an Isekai.
