Teams chat has its upsides, but the audio quality on calls is such a crapshoot.

I don't see what Teams chat does that's better than Slack.

From my experience with both, I find Team's chat to be less cluttered and easier to organize all the chats I have. Plus one on one chats are easier to start. When I've used Slack, I find it visually overwhelming. I have similar issues with Discord (which comes from the same origin point as Slack).

Hmmm, just total opposite from my point of view - I find Teams chat sort of big and unwieldy - so presumably just a matter of preference.

OMG I also like Teams!! Much better than some other options, at least at my work.

The best thing about Teams is my office replaced our phone system with Teams. But they didn't give us any microphones or speakers for our computers. So now I can communicate solely by text! It's amazing!!!!!

It's fine but I hate the expectation that I will have it open all the time so people can contact me via chat. It's never the most efficient way to discuss something. THIS LITERALLY COULD HAVE BEEN AN EMAIL JUST EMAIL ME JUST EMAIL ME JUST EMAIL ME. I realize this has probably been the work reality for many people for years but when the company I work for was smaller we never used it. Now that we're bigger it's become the new normal. I answer emails, calls, and texts as fast as I can but make people wait on chat.

There are many situations where chat is better than email!
