Xanykaos, please don't take this as an attack; we're supposed to correct one another, but it's harder in real life because of social constraints.

Censoring the word does not make a difference. "Let no unwholesome word pass your lips", yes, but Jesus taught that it wasn't just following the letter of the law that mattered; what was in your heart and mind mattered just as much.

We all fall. You've just been singled out because you chose to announce your faith -- which is a good thing and a brave thing! And I hope you will continue to grow in Christ.

Yeah, yeah, I know. I don't like cursing out loud, but the 'net's more my thoughts. Difference between the right word and almost the right word and all that (not to mention the point where you get to debate what really constitutes a swear word, etc. In theory, that one shouldn't count, since it's not blasphemous, or relating to sex or excrement, which seem to be the three common basis, etc etc. But I'm too neurotic to even type the word, so...*shrug*)

I guess technically, the Christian thing would be to not call her out at all. I'm lousy at that.

No, I was just talking about cursing and the nature of it. I'm not justifying anything.

But if a person says that she would stop talking to her friends because they saw a movie, then y'know what? No, I think telling her that is pretty on the money.
