(Anonymous) 2024-05-15 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)You push down on the spring-loaded button until it clicks, heat the solder up to molten with your iron, put the tip down on the soft solder and press the trigger, creating a brief vacuum (hence solder sucker).
The tip on that kind is a Teflon-based plastic. Some of the high-end ones use silicone tubes instead, which can make a better seal.
