I try not to talk to a friend about Bridgerton because they always automatically turn it into some form of virtue signaling for racism. If it's not the characters/show in itself, it's the show runners. If not that, it's the source material. If it's not that, it's the actors. Etc. Etc.

And I appreciate the discussions that have come from all of this, but at what point do you concede that it's problematic and just enjoy the show for what it is for a few days/moments?

I turn to historical romances written by POC authors. I watch historical romances made by POC creators with POC actors.

But I also want to enjoy Bridgerton because it's fluff that is easy for me to enjoy.
