(Anonymous) 2024-05-22 08:11 am (UTC)(link)Years ago, my brother was hit by a motorcycle as a pedestrian and walked away from the accident without a scratch on him (true story, thank goodness). That's no reason to tell other people who were not so lucky to suck it up. We understand this immediately and intuitively when we're dealing with physically dangerous situations and obvious injuries. But we're used to hearing people assert the opposite about emotional and mental trauma. Which really is as irresponsible as claiming that just because you heard of one guy who didn't need medical treatment, anyone who does is really just making it up.
