I kind of enjoyed it. But also, the pacing, narrative concepts, and plot-development and execution were wobbly and quarter-baked to a degree where it was kind of baffling that it somehow still sort of held together.

It felt like a 24-episode season that had been smashed up, and then instead of cutting out plotlines in order to make something that was eight episodes long and cohesive, the creator(s) kept all the plotlines and just jettisoned all of the connective tissue.

That's my answer as someone who doesn't hate it, but agrees with many of the opinions of people who do hate it.

Though I think many of the people who genuinely hate it, and don't just want to critique it for fun, are probably mostly people who watched the original Hazbin pilot back when it came out years ago and had been anticipating the show ever since, only to be resoundingly disappointed.

These are my gripes with it too. It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, but it felt really rushed (even 13 episodes would be better than 8) and when revisiting the end I wondered what's the point of making going to Heaven the goal, when it's not any better than Hell... I'm hoping Season 2 will explain the latter issues, but if it's going to be the same length, I'm not holding my breath.
