I'm not surprised given the level of fury after various content purges in the past. It would have been one thing if it had been approached as "hey so in order to pay the server bills we have advertising and one of the big ones told us that we can't have adult content so you have X amount of time to move it elsewhere" but from what I recall it was just gone like overnight with no warning, just a sudden policy change. Fandom has a long memory and some things don't get forgiven.

It wasn't even really about advertising. It was a religious group targeting the site in the Name of the Children.

Yeah, I hadn't even written any smut but I pulled all my stuff off FF.net after that one because I didn't trust that they wouldn't decide that something else was offensive and spontaneously delete stuff because of that.
