Do you have a source? I was looking around trying to find demographics and it's pretty easy for AO3, but I can't find anything for ff.net.

That would have been true before the first purge. During/after the drama, there was a mass exodus and, even if the old accounts are still there, most of them don’t post anything anymore. The active users these days appear to be in their teens and early twenties, based on the bios of the first couple of pages of “Just In” authors.
