I don't want it to fail, and I honestly agree with the idea of having more sites to host fanfiction on since as great as AO3 is and I love it very much - its not immune from going down. Hell, there's memes of people panicking when the site has down time for anything longer than a couple of hours.

That being said, with its reputation for deleting fics and having more viruses/malware/ads than you can shake a stick at - it feels like ffnet is going to tank itself one day without warning. I don't want that to happen, especially considering all the fics that haven't been preserved from that site (on top of making it difficult to do so compared to AO3's downloading method).

This is why I've been publishing on both AO3 and Squidgeworld; so that my work can be saved in an alternate location online just in case.
