I think it'd depend on what the "something wrong" was and what the circumstances were when they did it. But if it was something really serious that I would've broken up with them for, then chances are I wouldn't be fine with it just because it "technically" didn't happen. If a person decides to murder a child, then they're still the same person who made that call. It's good they felt remorse (assuming they did feel remorse and that was the reason they went back to fix it) and it's good the child is alive, but I don't particularly care to date a child-murderer.
