They would not be able to. The trains rely on being supplied by truck for their own supplies and maintenance materials. So Trains would stop running within a few weeks too. The world would be a charnel house before the end of the month. Even basic things like running water rely in some way upon road transport somewhere along the line. The electricity grid would go down, municipal water is toast, planes are going to be grounded, all sorts of medical treatments are no longer possible and drugstores can no longer be resupplied even if they can be staffed-which most places cannot be. The first deaths, in hospitals and medical settings, start within a few hours of the road network ceasing to exist, and it only gets harder from there. Even farms can no longer sustain themselves with necessary fertilisers, foodstock for any livestock, and crop seeds. The entire thing is going to come crashing down.
