I'm not too sure I see the 'whiney little uke' in the pictures the artist has drawn of them, personally =/;;; I know it's very much a self opinion thing since art is all down to different people's views but... I can't see it myself.

If we're talking THAT image in particular, I'm 90% sure that there's a reason behind the 'uke'-ness.

I have my doubts that the artist would have done that intentionally, regardless.

Oh, I'm not saying the artist intentionally did it or intends to make Soi Fong look like that. It's just to me, I interpret it as that, because she just looks so vulnerable and emotionally dependent and has the cliche hugs-from-behind thing. She's a good artist, the anatomy is good and the colouring is good and all of that. I just don't like the portrayal of the characters.

I haven't seen much of her other stuff, so I'm only relying on that one picture.

Well, I know that particular picture was a commission, not her own stuff. Her other YoruSoi work never gave off that feeling to me at all and she's actually one of my favourite artists for the pairing, that's the only reason it struck me as so odd XD;;;;

If you get chance, look up some of her other work, just to see if your views stay the same or if I'm just being biased toward a friend. Can't hurt either way. Thanks for clearing up your view on it though :3

If it's a commission then it's more clear to me. I think the artist is good, but that picture definitely gives me the wrong vibe of the couple. But then again, everyone has different interpretations of the pairing, you know? I'm in love with it as an old flame relationship, something that can't be recreated but the feelings still linger; that way it's more bittersweet and romantic to me, I guess? But that's not how it is with everyone. I just see Soi Fong as a woman of duty, now, and Yoruichi as a woman who roams.

I just couldn't see Soi Fong clinging to Yoruichi in the present that way, now. That's too much vulnerability to expose to someone who left you. So it's not really dissing the drawing or anything, just..what's going on in it? XD I'm sure her other stuff is better if it's not as weepy and clingy. I mean, before Yoruichi left I could have bought something like that happening between them...but Soi Fong has changed and has priorities, now, above hot lesbian sex ;)
