I prefer different actors.
You can change a wig and get some padding for ~15 year difference. But digital de-aging looks creepy and stupid. Same actors sometimes can be fun, but for serious work is just a no. It takes me out from a story. Old people make up mostly looks bad - younger actors do not move right, their eyes too bright.
Anyway. For me the gold standard of doing casting right is Dark.
