It's in-character, but it's depressing that the writers think it was as simple as his actions and her feelings about them meant it was completely right and good of her to kill him. Her feelings were completely justified. Killing him because "he did bad things in the past and hurt me" and not because he was still a threat makes her not as morally clean as they think she is.
