It's the literacy issue. They want things spoonfed to them, and if it's not exactly as they like it, well, they can't be bothered to actually think about it, about why that may be, about what the deeper meaning of anything is, about their own lives and how they should be relating to other people. They just throw a temper tantrum like a 4 year old.

Not only do they think everyone wants the same things they do, they think everyone else should want the same things they do, and if other people want or prefer something different, those people are somehow robbing them or are Bad People for wanting something different than what they want.

It's a maturity issue most of all, I think. They're so used to being coddled and catered to that it comes as a major shock when someone else doesn't cater to them.

Don’t worry, OP, you really don’t write for me. I would never read a fic written by someone who posts an author’s note every chapter. I don’t care about your personal life and anything related to the fic should be in the fic. Anything below that long established standard in literature isn’t worth my precious time.

I think the biggest reason is that Centaurworld never got that well-known. It was moderately successful, but nowhere on the level of Steven Universe. Most people who complained about SU probably never heard of it.

Personally I thought both endings were going for different messages with different levels of optimism vs. realism, so both were fine by me. My problem with Centaurworld's only came when I read about why they chose to have the villain killed. It was because he was meant to be sympathetic but it wanted to show that being sympathetic didn't excuse all the wrong he'd done...... oh, and as a side note, because he would have kept on going on his rampage and there was no other way to stop him besides killing him.

That sidenote should have been the reason. It should not be an aside to a punishment. When I watched it, I thought it was a mercy kill because he was about to die anyway and the woman who killed him needed to bring up her anger at him in order to be able to go through with the murder. That, or the fact that there was no other way to stop him, should be the only reason. Learning that it was because the writers wanted to teach a lesson about bad people needing punishment by death really soured me on the ending and the show (which I'd had mixed feelings about to begin with).
