Mindless entertainment

What things do you watch or play when your brain isn't functioning and you can't handle anything serious or remotely plot-intensive?

Archer. When I need something mindless to give me pleasure, I always dive into Archer.

I haven't actually watched that yet. Maybe I will give it a go.

Start with S2, season 1 is a bit rough. Of course, if you like it rough then you can start there.

Well, you say that...

I play a mobile game called Archero. Or I’ll play a water sort game, free flow, or a match 3 game.

Sorry I don’t have any viewing recs, I can’t watch things when I get like that. I’m either fully absorbed or I don’t watch at all.

Yes, all I'm managing at the moment is Youtube videos. I tried to watch a Doctor Who episode and lasted 5 minutes. One I'd seen probably a hundred times.

Any puzzle games. Nonograms (like Picross) or kenken.

Aria the Animation, a sweet, lovely anime where I can just turn my brain off and enjoy the beautiful world that has been created for the audience to enjoy.

(A LOT of Asian vloggers do something similar)

Travel vlogs with again, little or no narration:

I could easily play endless hours of Tetris. Also watching compilations of anime openings/closings (mostly of Naruto tbh) or long deep-dives on video game histories that I have zero interest in playing.

I mess around with an app called Silk 2 - Generative Art. It makes lovely abstract and kaleidoscope inspired art.

Really fun, and it doesn't have any subscription or AI BS in it at all. I use it to make wallpapers for my tablet and cell phone. Also good for backgrounds in social media accounts.
