What is the best country to get stuck in?

(Anonymous) 2024-07-21 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Total opinions, no wrong answers.

I might ask again in todays post because I doubt if anyone will see this, but all the flights being cancelled and airline fiascos made me think. Apart from your home country, what would be the best country or place to get "stuck" due to cancelled flights etc?

A well run library.

No lines for the restrooms, you could take a short nap if you felt like it, plenty of internet access, maps galore if you needed to find a good meal, and helpful librarians to help you research any topic you would like to look up.

The first country I thought of (as an American) was France, due to their free healthcare. I've never traveled internationally but I heard that in France, even if you aren't a citizen and can't afford it, if you need medical help it will be provided to you.
I generally tend to think immediately of a worst case scenario to react to XD
Thinking of being stranded in a foreign land and if I get hurt or don't feel well, I'd want to be able to get medical help.
But also, it would be easy to have a small city adventure and walk around to pass the time in France's big cities.

And I think any country that has good public transportation would be great to be stuck in because you'd be able to go from place to place with ease.
