A reminder that this a part of Hollywood eating its own tail and wondering why the industry is dying.

There are no movie stars because studios are more interested in creating and keeping a franchise of characters. And even the franchises are dying because studios need to rehash characters and actors. When something new comes along it's still the same shit, just dressed up a little differently.

Who needs anything new when they can just continually recycle everything?

Disney has made over thirty billion dollars from the MCU alone. If that is dying, I could do with a bit of that myself.

Also, outside of money, creatively this is bad. Just because it's successful/popular/makes money doesn't mean it's good.

The bubble is already bursting. Disney had a very bad year last year wrt their movies, Disney+ is losing subscribers, and attendance at their theme parks is declining. People are losing interest in the MCU as a whole, and picking and choosing which movies they watch, or waiting for streaming.
