What are your "first world problems"?

(Anonymous) 2024-08-05 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll start - my favourite nail polish doesn't look right now that I have a tan.

I'm really hoping my city subcommittee has enough people on the list for us to meet quorum.

I'm losing weight (on purpose, it's a diet) and most of the nice clothes I bought over the last year are too baggy. I hate the reselling process.

I am on my weightloss/getting healthy journey and I am at that in between stage where clothes are baggy but the size down is still too tight. It is so annoying. And then I want to do a whole closet cleanout but there is that little voice saying "but you're probably going to gain it back so you should just keep your fat clothes."

Re: What are your "first world problems"?

I have been "stable" at that weight for about fifteen years and I just have to keep two entire wardrobes because it fluctuates between "size X is too tight to wear" and "size X+2 is falling off me" on a week-to-week basis.

I realize this is definitely first world problems compared to people who are like, I have to get my size from specialty shops, or who have wild swings over longer periods of time, but why can't they just make size X+1?? I had finally decided I was permanently old and fat enough to get rid of all the size X stuff and free up closet space, and then they suddenly started fitting again.

I have this problem due to bloating from digestion issues. I'm working on what the triggers are but right now it seems random and when its bad I can go up 2 whole sizes, so I basically keep multiples in my closet which is just dumb and takes up space.

Would it be possible to have them sewn in to a smaller size?

A community group I'm a member of just voted to sell some of the land they have as an investment to an evil developer, for well under seven figures, and they don't even need the money >:(

I'm trying to find out which songs this song 'You and Me Apart From the World' by Ashbury Heights reminds me of: https://youtu.be/IuQJG30wmAY?si=w-nKMgpo3R6Ro0eW

Intro is definitely 'Jump' by Van Halen, but the cadence of the first verse is similar to another song that I can't name. It's driving me nuts.

Hmm I hear it too but can't name the song.

Ayrt:
I might have found something. Maybe.

New Radicals - 'You get what you give'. https://youtu.be/DL7-CKirWZE?si=LARwc5_ys8xo7dWQ

It's a bit slower than Ashbury Heights' song, though, so I'm not sure.

I’m super worried about the intel 13th and 14th generation chips because I just bought a new laptop a few months ago.

I don’t like my car. It’s a very nice car, an expensive brand that I got cheap at auction after a lease sale, it has all the bells and whistles, it drives wonderfully. But the interior is 2 feet shorter than the car it replaced which is A LOT of cargo room, and it’s a brand that everyone associates with a certain type of woman. I regret buying it. I just defy the stereotype as much as possible by blasting Guns and Roses or Eminem or AC/DC, really unexpected stuff like that. Oh and I can’t replace it because my dad loves it and was really upset when I mentioned maybe getting a different car. Luckily (and I’m going to hell for feeling lucky about this) he got confused about it after the fact and thinks I was talking about getting my husband a new car, since we needed to and have since done.

Just a general feeling that it's too late for me in all areas of life. Intellectually I'm sure that's not true but I feel like I don't know where to start or everything I do start simply is a dead end. First world problem because I'm luckier than most in that I am able to support myself, albeit without many fun expenses so I don't have much of a life.

I've been deep in this feeling since last year. Although part of mine is that I can't support myself and have to have a roommate.

I want a better iPad.

I bought an iPad Pro this year. It works just fine. I guess I'm a greedy weirdo.

I hate how far (and expensive) everything is to travel to. I am lucky to be able to travel at all so I shouldn't complain, but everywhere interesting (to me) is an 8-10hr travel day at minimum.

My job decided to switch around how they do things and made it about 10x as annoying and inherently slower. PLUS they didn't do any retraining, just threw us in like "good luck and fuck you". It's a deeply stupid thing that I'm praying doesn't last, but knowing how stupid they are in general it'll probably stick.

First world problem because I've got decently well-paying job for someone who barely finished high school, to the point where I'm able to live alone in a city I love being in. It's literally just annoying, but that "just" is looking worse by the day.
