Some people that do this will grow up and come to the realization that they were being obtuse and obnoxious. I mean, there are definitely some that won't mature - somehow, they won't ever take anything real from their experiences or come out of that narcissistic mindset that how they do and feel things is the only right way. But some will.

This. I just wish more people grew up and realize they're being obtuse and obnoxious, but honestly, the medium of the internet tends to exacerbate peoples' "let's play devil's advocate for everything because that's such a clever thing to do" tendencies.
