not OP but it makes sense why this would upset them-- if they're open about liking RPF it sucks to realize you've been left behind when it would be obvious to be integrated into account 2.

Not necessarily. I have some friends I game with that are into fanfic, but I don't particularly like their favorite genres and tropes or fandoms even if we're both broadly "into slash."

RPF can be a whole host of different genres and assuming all RPF fans like the same RPF is like saying all slash fans like the same slash and would share interests and that's not true.

I'd prefer if the people who are posting about omegaverse and whatnot simply are not aware that I like slash rather than having to deal with them trying to engage me on the topic in a gaming discord or something; there's absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying ABO but I'm not interested in what they're interested in.
