I think this is a friend issue not an RPF issue! People should have as many or as few identities online as they want - the issue is not the multiple identities, it's whether or not they're being vile in one of them while gathering information from another, and I've never seen anyone successfully do that for very long.

I do know someone who has separate identities for her RPF and fictional canons, but it's because someone else (a BNF and associated fleet of bullies) was absolutely vile to her about some of her RPF years ago and she doesn't want to deal with that again. And I only know about the two identities because I was there when she made them.
