Are they still a thing? I used to get the majority of my new fic from various people I followed that wouod share fic.

Damn, I miss those. little blurbs and why the person liked it...I used to go on LJ to find those. I think AO3 has a feature like that -- or I use people's bookmarks in that manner.

For a long time, I've been thinking of having a rec list on my DW...but I don't even know how I'd get people to check it out.

I look through bookmarks too. Bless the people that have public bookmarks lol (mine are all private)

I use my bookmarks like that as well. It's always a disappointing surprise when I come across an author I like who uses their bookmarks only as a "to read" list D:
