What is a pairing or fandom you wish you could click with and get into?

I kind of miss when I was mostly reading from bigger fandoms. I adore my fandom. But also, I've read all the fics, and there just aren't that many being written all that often. It isn't a tiny fandom, but it is smaller than my previous ones, and my favorite ships are all smaller than what I'm more used to.

I wish I was more into House of the Dragon. I was watching in the beginning and enjoying. But partway through season 1, my interest sort of petered. I still haven't finished season 1. I love dragons. I love Matt Smith. It looks fun. But I just can't find the will to pick it back up again.

I can halfway relate. I got into a medium sized fandom late and missed the heyday, so when I first joined there were loads of fics, but it was petering out. Now it's very much that, fics but very few new ones at a time.

Harry Potter. There is just so much fic of every trope. I've seen the movies so I know enough to understand the fics. But every time I just can't find anything that clicks (maybe there is too much). Maybe I'll give it another go.

Honestly, as someone who used to be in the fandom and fallen deeply out of love with it, it's so weird to me seeing the resurgence in it in some corners of the internet... like back in the day I get why it was such a juggernaut fandom, but trying to re-read the books as an adult was a SLOG.

There is just so much content, I wish I could click that switch in my brain but nope. I enjoy some of the shows but more in a "if its on I'll watch and enjoy, but don't really seek it out" kind of way.
