Re: I'm a millennial who has kids, owns a house, and has a steady job

Can you stay home in November instead of going out to vote for Trump.

I'm curious what prompts you to think this person is a Trump supporter.

Because those millennials who made good always are. Those who got lucky always have a story to justify why they are so much better than the rest of us. Always sneer on the lip. A patronising little pat on the head. They are Boomer 2.0, and always end up spiting everyone else in the end.

Ew, you're so rotten with jealousy and self loathing, it's pretty pathetic and disgusting. Just because you're a failure and you revel in your alleged victimhood doesn't mean everyone who isn't is evil.

What meets the definition of "who made good"? Someone who just happens to own a house? You realize that over 50% of millennials actually own houses. Do you think they were all born to wealthy parents, or received assistance while buying a house?

AYRT

I am both amused and bemused by this. I know Millennial couples younger than myself that own homes and can't stand Trump. This is a position that's pretty common where I live.

The irony of this comment is that it reads like it could have been written by a Trump voter. Just swap "Millennials who made good" with "elites," and you've got the start of a working-class MAGA rant.

not OP but WTF is this response.

Homeowner status is not an indication of one's political views (and frankly, most Trump supporters aren't anywhere near as fortunate as OP). Grow the fuck up and stop painting people with a broad brush.

Welp, all but one or two of the millennials I know who own homes and have kids do fit this stereotype (and by know I mean follow on Facebook, so it's people I went to school with and some distant relatives) so I'm a little more sympathetic to your sentiment than the previous replies. But millennials with that kind of privilege are also more likely to seriously be on the fence (Trump: good economically for people with money but bad socially for millennials and their more left-leaning values) and petty enough to let a comment like yours tip them into voting for Trump.

This has got to be regional. The people I know who support Trump are lower on the socioeconomic scale and view liberals as having screwed them over. The Millennials I know who own homes and have kids have Black Lives Matter signs in their yards and Pride/Progress flags hanging from their porches, and wouldn't vote for Trump if you held a gun to their head.

DA

I agree with this assessment of the situation.
