You're wrong, OP. Me and my anime clone from another dimension commit selfcest all the time after we read a fic about it on AO3. If only we hadn't read that fic, none of this would have happened, and we'd have remained lifelong anime rivals with unresolved sexual tension instead.

I can see how people might consider selfcest to be closer to identical twincest than masturbation. It sort of depends on the specific situation as to how I see it, though I have no problem with it either way in fic. So, I think there is an argument to be had for genuine real-world parallels, even if I do think that the supposition that reading selfcest is going to cause anyone to do crime is ridiculous.

You're not wrong. A decade ago I was low-key an anti myself, and even back then I had no issue with selfcest and thought likening it to incest was stupid. Some antis really take being nonsensically judgmental to the next level.

Honestly, the only issue I personally have with selfcest is that I find it boring. If the two selves are extremely similar then it's basically just masturbation in stereo, and if the two selves are significantly different, then it's basically just two individuals fucking. No judgement if selfcest is your kink. I've just never really found a version of it that worked for me personally.

only issue I have with selfcest is I don't like myself enough to want to do anything with myself, but y'know. That's completely a me issue lol.
