I want to go to the Haight St fair in SF on Sunday if my leg isn't too messed up (it still hurts right now because I had a prosthetic knee put in)

I wouldn't mind! Though, I think we are looking at arriving on Tuesday and leaving on Saturday so that might not be days you want to hang out.

Can you recommend anything? We'd love a local's perspective. So far we are looking at the Disney Museum, MOMA, Alcatraz, Exploritarium, Ferry Building Marketplace. It is near Halloween so hoping we might be able to see some events or shows.

Or any local food spots you could recommend. We will probably be staying in the area of all those tourist spots. Lol.

if you're going to the exploratorium go on Thursday night (adults' night) unless you really like spending several hours looking at the backs of kids' heads.
There are lots and lots of restaurants I can recommend depending on neighborhood and type of food.
the de Young museum is cool
I looove the Castro theater but I don't think they will be finished renovating it by next month. That whole neighborhood is great for partying w/friendly gay dudes though.
Depending on what comedian is playing there Cobb's Comedy Club can be awesome.
Golden Gate park has some gorgeous areas.

Will definitely being on Thursday night! We are also going to do the Alcatraz night tour. We are not sure where we'll be staying yet.

The subreddit suggested downtown (which is too broad to be useful) or near the wharf. We want to be near public transportation, have some food options to walk to, and feel safe at night (since we will be doing several night activities). Bonus if it is quieter at night because we go to bed pretty early as we are boring. Lol.

Oh, and we eat most cuisines but are not huge on fish. My sister loves fried shrimp, but that's about it.
