Agreed. It's not a moral issue for me, it's that it makes me feel like I've stumbled into someone's (apparently-not-at-all-)secret stash of fetish kink porn.

exactly this. I've been in fandom long enough to have seen fetishy art for decades, so when it starts creeping into "actual" media meant to be bought and consumed by a wider audience, it's so hella no. especially when the core fetish seems to be people who like women but are mad that real women don't look like their fetish art, unironically.

This, Woman are hot, but not when they have overexaggerated proportions and antigravity melon tits. Give me sexy but give actually sexy, not nearing uncanny valley.

(also so many "Sexy outfits" look genuinely ugly, that Korean game with the sexy protagonist, seen a few nice outfits for her but most of them are so fucking ugly.)

Sometimes I look at these kinds of character designs and wonder if it's really just the artist seeing just how far they can go and have enough people still find it attractive enough to sell. Wishful thinking, really.

I know this character and I'm legit convinced it's both they caught an otherwise good artist on a bad day and executive meddling, since the concept designs were a lot more tasteful.

Same. I can even dig over-the-top if it's in an intentional self-aware camp way, but it rarely is. That's why designs like Bayonetta are well-received, but this is a complete nightmare to look at.

Kind of sucks because Dahlia's one of my favorite blades to have in battle and her accent's adorable. I just don't enjoy watching her jiggle everywhere. (And her design isn't even the skankiest-looking in the whole game, lmao.)

Wait until you see her concept art designs (not my photo). This had to have been executive meddling.

I'll never forget the Photoshop job where some dude "fixed" the scene from Iron Man 2 where Natasha takes down some bad guys in her cat suit and saunters towards the camera. She looks really hot in the scene.

The dude photoshopped that image to have the zipper of her suit down below her chest and gave her some super sized boobs except the skin was really thin so it made the boobs look somewhat greyish and veiny? It didn't fit her skin tone at all.

It looked really weird but so many dudes were praising the pic in the comments and to this day I don't know why. Dude took one of the sexiest characters and made her look less hot. Good job, moron.

Not to mention alot of the times over-the-top fanservice falls deep into the Uncanny Valley to me.
I do not find dead-eyed doll-like beings with freakish, inhuman "sexy" proportions to be attractive.
If anything I find them repulsive.

It's part of the reason why I don't find One Piece's women attractive in the least. I find the women in dr stone to have really weird looking faces.

Do not get me started on 3D models . *Shudders*

See, One Piece is such a great example of a good thing being ruined from the outside. I'm not discounting Oda's "I'm on record as liking boobs" own personal thing, which definitely became more pronounced after he met his wife (a lovely woman who happened to play Nami in one of they very first stage plays). That's part of it, sure. But SJ editors absolutely lean on him to titty it up when he can, it's a known not-secret in manga. And, the Japanese fanbase is stupid horny which in turn makes the editors say "hey how about a little more tit to sell to the horny fanbase" and now it's out of control. If the mangaka who can basically command SJ to do his bidding still can't get his editors off his back, no one else stands a chance. Honestly, I find it sad, that he can't even loredump without having to pivot to showing Nami in a bikini thong to make sure they don't lose readers.

RIght? It's weird and gross. I can enjoy female character designs despite not being sexually attracted to women, even if they're somewhat skimpily clad when that makes sense for the character/situation-- a lot of cleavage in a game where you're romancing other characters makes more sense to me than a fighting game where the girls are wearing... minimal support and protection, for instance. But the watermelon tits are just really off-putting to me. All I think about is the backache!

Even as someone who likes bigger boobs on women in real life (and I have a big bust myself), it's never drawn realistically anyway. They're not going to look like she's wearing a bra 24/7, they're going to naturally sag a little if they're above a D cup. It's like the cismale artists of designs like that only like the idea of women.

And then there's Eiken...

That doesn't even look like something the average horny gamer dude who throws fits about female characters having peach fuzz on their cheeks would find sexy.

Yeah, I agree that when I see the exaggerated big boobs, ass, and/or thighs with slim/no waist and giant eyes all I see is a fetish on display.

I am half convinced that it's a form of turf-marking. Like, the point of the girl having literal beanbags hanging off her chest is not to be erotic, it's to clearly signpost "this game is For Cishet Men, it is not for you, if you are alienated by objectification of women, this is where you are going to find ALL OF IT." Which is not to say there is NOT objectification-qua-objectification going on (the repetitive toothless female character archetypes and male self-insert power fantasies attest to that), just that it kind of stretches plausibility for me to believe THAT many men goon to hyper breast expansion. It's a pretty niche kink.
