Sometimes I look at these kinds of character designs and wonder if it's really just the artist seeing just how far they can go and have enough people still find it attractive enough to sell. Wishful thinking, really.

I know this character and I'm legit convinced it's both they caught an otherwise good artist on a bad day and executive meddling, since the concept designs were a lot more tasteful.
