reclaiming, imo, with the cultural ubiquity of disney, especially in light of how newer movies from disney that reflect some culture have had people from that culture involved more.

that said, that time is clearly past, and disney doesn't give a fuck about cultural specificity as a selling point anymore

Yeah, I saw it a few times as a kid (I'm not American) and remembered nothing about the framing story, just the fun cartoons. Disney would be a terrible company to do it, though!
