With the sort-of exception of Giles, Buffy's support group turned on her hard at the beginning of season 3. They changed their minds, but it was pretty obvious to everyone that her support group was conditional. Willow was the leading charge of the "No Faiths" brigade, but she still had a shot with the rest of the gang right up until she threatened to rape and murder Xander.

Yeah, the adults had no excuse. But expecting a bunch of children to be able to deal with Faith's level of fucked up is not okay.

The Scoobies were always pretty mercurial when it came down to it; quick to suspect each other and to think the worst of each other in a lot of situations.

In a tv show where these 'children' do all sorts of stuff no actual kids do, and know just how awful things can be? I think they could have done better.
