I wouldn't say they're doing harm, like at all. It's just annoying and performative. They'd rather post ACAB in the comments of fanart made by leftists who are already critical of the police system, than try to talk to their dickhead family members who support "Blue Lives Matter" in real life.

Well it’s completely watered down the meaning of ACAB. It went from being an important social message to a meme. The harm is that the discussions have stopped.

NAYRT, but this is pretty much a universal problem in fandom, and not just with this. The constant barrage of 'hot button' issues as buzzwords to hammer home some arbitrary shipping war or whatever have watered down a lot of very serious, very real concerns into meaningless, overblown stupidity from ranting antis.
